Bartram Trail Veterinary Hospital is expanding, and we are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant. Position: Veterinary Assistant.

Location: Bartram Trail Veterinary Hospital.

Responsibilities:

As a Veterinary Assistant, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

Building positive relationships with clients and team members.
Assisting veterinarians with physical exams, procedures, and patient care.
Dispensing medications as prescribed by veterinarians.
Assisting veterinary technicians with radiographs, patient positioning, and anesthesia monitoring.
Preparing patients for surgery and assisting with surgical procedures.
Sterilizing surgical instruments and assisting with lab diagnostics.
Monitoring and providing comfort care to patients.
Supporting the kennel team with animal care (e.g., baths, nail trims, anal gland expressions).
Performing other duties as required to support the team and ensure excellent patient care.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred.
Certification or enrollment in an accredited veterinary assisting program is a plus.
CVA (Certified Veterinary Assistant) is preferred, but hands-on experience is prioritized.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Compassion for animals and their owners is essential.

Benefits and Schedule:

Full-Time Positions:
- Typically 4 weekdays per week, with alternating Saturdays and weekend comeback hours.
- Eligible for benefits after a 90-day probationary period, including:
  - Paid designated holidays.
  - 75% employer-paid health insurance.
  - Pet care discounts.
  - Uniform allowance.
- Paid time off begins after 1 year of employment.
- Continuing education is encouraged and supported.
- Full-time is defined as a regular schedule of 64 hours or more per bi-weekly pay period.

Work Environment:

You will primarily work in the hospital's exam, treatment, and surgical areas, assisting with both routine and emergency care.
